Developing an Integrated Weed Management Program for the Landscape: Reducing Costs and Improving Results

Overview: This session will share some of UF’s latest data comparing different PRE and POST herbicide combinations to frequent applications of just glyphosate or glufosinate as well as incorporating non-chemical strategies to get better results. Chris will also discuss how to make a simple comparison on which option is going to be most effective and economical.

Speaker Bio: Chris Marble is an assistant professor of Ornamental & Landscape Weed Management at the University of Florida, Mid-Florida Research and Education Center. His research and extension programs focus on improving weed control in landscapes and in nursery and greenhouse production. The primary goal of his research program is to improve upon current weed control practices and develop new methods of weed control using an integrated approach combining both chemical and non-chemical management strategies. Chris Marable’s extension program involves working with extension faculty and staff, growers, landscapers, homeowners, and other stakeholders to deliver the latest information on weeds, pests and to provide the most effective, economical, and environmentally-friendly methods of weed control in and around ornamental plants.
